I would not stay at this place again, in fact I only stayed the first night and found alternative accommodation elsewhere. I arrived late and chose not to take the taxi as it was more expensive than the one from the airport. I wasn't given the code to get the key for the door. I was instructed to ring a number which I did and then was told to ring a different number. The whole process took too long and there was absolutely no welcome at all. The place was cold and unfriendly. The carpet in hall way stank and the room itself stank of bleach and was like a prison cell! The host was not helpful at all, considering that I am a foreigner and don't know the country very well.I would not recommend this place to anyone.I gave it a one star rating as there is not option to give zero star.
We arrived late in the evening, so when we wanted to collect our key, the reception was already closed. After a few phone calls we were able to pick up our key at the seemingly closed casino next door.
The apartment itself was great, clean and bright. The only downside was that one of the sofa beds (we were with 4 persons) was a bit on the hard side. It's a great apartment if you don't want to cook yourself, because otherwise options are limited (not a lot of plates and a weird stove).
The breakfast was kind of simple. A few toasts with jam or honey, the coffee and the tea were lovely.
In the neighborhood there were a lot of nice restaurants, mini-markets and other places to eat. Shops like Pho, Pizza Letna and Mr. Hotdog were nice places to grab a bite.
The apartment was very close to a big park. This park leads to places like the Metronome, Prague Castle and an overview point of pretty much the entire city. Via the park you can also easily reach downtown Prague (straight ahead when you enter the park (just when you passed the flowers)).
We gave 3 stars. This is because of the fact that, like we said, the breakfast was a bit simple and because there weren't always people at the reception. The Wi-Fi in the room itself was pretty bad. The Wi-Fi in the hall was better.
Jan's apartment is a really nice place to stay. Near to the river and to the old town, also to the public transport. In the apartment was everything, what we needed. Only wifi coverage was too weak to use. After the day on foot it was a pity for the teenager girl ;)
To sum up, thank you, Jan!
Really nice stay, no problems at all for anything! =)
Nice clean and roomy apartment. It was nice to stay for 2 nights.
We loved the stay in Jan's apartment. The room was small but very cosy and very clean, breakfast was included and in general the service was great. The apartment is located 15-20 minutes walk from the old town, and yet in an area that is away from tourist traps, full of nice restaurants, bakeries, pubs etc. I would be happy to stay there during my next trip to Prague as well.
2great beds, english reception and delicious cheese on breakfast!! :) enjoy everyone, Jan is a great Home-Boss:)
Nice big rooms (2 rooms and a bathroom). The one room had a stove & kitchen utilities. Its more like a hostel, but everything was clean. Close to downtown. The breakfast was a nice extra. Good value for that price.
