The property is close to Tooting Bec Underground Station, you can reach the centre in about 30min.
Self Catering is possible, the double bedroom has a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, tea, coffee, plates, cups, glasses and cutlery, extendable table and up to 5 seats.
Alternatively you can order a continental breakfast which will be served in the conservatory.
The double bedroom is very bright with 2 windows each, modern wooden floors. It has a large, comfortable double bed (1.80 x 2m) and is beautifully decorated.
Morning sun is streaming into this room. All windows have blinds/curtains.
Both rooms have TV and a DVD player and a selection of movies.
The Twin bedroom has 2 single beds, a third bed (like the Twin beds with wooden frame and thick mattress) is available for a 5th guest. This room overlooks the beautiful garden and gets the evening sun.
The bathroom is travertine tiled with bath and shower head but no stand up shower.
The garden can be used by guests on demand, also smokers - our terrace has a small glass roof for shelter from bad weather.
If you would like to book the rooms as B&B (breakfast for £10 per person, payable directly to the owner) you can expect a continental breakfast with cereals, jams, honey etc. and a selection of meats and cheeses, eggs. The breakfast table is in the kitchen with view onto the beautiful, large garden.
There is free Wifi and free parking.
The ground and first floor is used by Susanne, her partner, her teenage son and very friendly cats. Susanne speaks german, english, french and a little italian.
GETTING TO THE CENTRE by bus and underground in about half an hour:
Our house is close to Tooting Bec and Tooting Broadway Underground Station on the Northern line.
To get into the centre, there are two bus lines (249 and 319 - 3 stops) to Tooting Bec or bus line (G1 - 6 stops) to Tooting Broadway. From the Underground stations it will take another 15-20min into the centre.
Alternatively, the bus 319 goes all the way to Sloane Square in Chelsea (45min bus trip), through the famous Kings Road, great for shopping, eating and people watching.
Harrods and Hyde Park are in walking distance from Sloane Square or you can take other
public busses (11) for the usual sightseeing attractions like Westminster Cathedral, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square.
Getting here from Heathrow and Gatwick takes 45min with a cab (£50-60), 90min with public transport. From Luton and Stansted it takes about 120min by train, tube and bus.
HEATHROW is connected to the Underground, change at Leicester Square to southbound Northern line, exit at Tooting Bec, take the bus 319 or 249, stop F in direction Streatham Hill or Anerley and leave at the 3rd stop at ‘Athletics track’, then walk next to the Athletics track to 24 Brookview Road in 7 minutes, a google map will be helpful.
GATWICK has a train station (thetrainline.com) where you can take a train every 11 minutes to Clapham Junction (20min), then bus 319 direction Streatham Hill to my house, exit the bus 3 stops after Tooting Bec at Athletics track (20min). Walk to my house from here.
LUTON Take a free shuttle bus (5min) to the train station, take a train to St. Pancreas/Kings Cross, change to the Northern Line southbound, then exit at Tooting Bec. See above for the rest of the journey.
STANSTED it is best to take a train to Liverpool Street Station, then the Underground to Tooting Bec, then bus 319 or 249 as mentioned.
CITY AIRPORT Take the shuttle bus to Canning Town, from here the Underground on the Jubilee line to London Bridge, change here to the Northern line and follow instructions above.
This Neighborhood, Furzedown, feels like a village, very safe and quiet. You'll find 2 supermarkets, Budgens and Costcutter (5min walking), a cafe for full english breakfast and other small shops. Costcutter sells the Oyster Card for travelling in London by bus and Underground.
The house is 5 min from Tooting Common (big park) with 8 public tennis courts and Tooting Bec Lido, the largest outdoor swimming pool of London.
Tooting High Street has a fantastic selection of indian restaurants. You'll find more varied bars, pubs and restaurants around Balham Station (short bus ride with 249), including the famous 'The Bedford' with comedy, 4 nights per week free life music. Another street, Northcote Road, which you can reach with bus 319 (15min), is a typical english family street with pretty shops, many restaurants, also pubs and bars.
There is a big Primark at Tooting Broadway station.

Wir hatten einen super Aufenthalt in London. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß, sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen Wohnstraße. Die Gastgeberin Susanne ist sehr nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit mit guten Tips für den Aufenthalt. Das angebotene Frühstück ist empfehlenswert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Susanne hat uns wertvolle Tipps und Ratschläge gegeben (Zug,-Busverbindungen). Wer Katzen mag (so wie wir) fühlt sich bei dieser sehr netten Gastgeberin sehr wohl.
Wir haben unseren spontanen Kurztrip nach London mit unseren drei Kindern sehr genossen. Unser Aufenthalt bei Susanne war sehr angenehm und wir haben uns wirklich wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer waren sauber und entsprachen genau den Fotos.
Da die Wohngegend sehr ruhig ist, konnten wir unser Auto bedenkenlos stehen lassen und mit Bus und U-Bahn war es kein Problem, in die City zu kommen.
Dank Susannes Tipps haben wir abends nicht nur lecker, sondern auch - für London - ausgesprochen preisgünstig gegessen.
Ein Tipp noch für alle Eltern mit Kindern: Besucht auf alle Fälle das Spielwarengeschäft Hamleys - dort gibt es für die ganze Familie viel zu entdecken und bestaunen.
Very nice rooms with a good bathroom. Pleasant neighbourhood. We bought our own breakfast, but missed the kitchen a bit (there is a possibility to make hotwater and toast).
Unser Aufenthalt bei Susanne (Susi) war sehr angenehm und unproblematisch. Die Wohnung war sauber und Susi war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns sehr geholfen.

Sussy is a very kind lady and the place is good, clean and well conected to public transportation...around 45 min to Victoria or Westminster. Ideal place for those who look for a guest house, very quiet neighborhood... for those who dont like cats, I barely notice their presence, seemed to me very well educated animals. The breakfast is exelent.
I would defenetively back to Sussy's place.
